Bremelanotide

Another one bites the dust

As of today Bremelanotide is no longer being developed or studied as a treatment for female sexual dysfunction. Previously known as PT-141 the hormone therapy that functions in activating certain receptors such as, MC1R and MC4R which are melanocortin receptors was discontinued as an application for FSD when serious concerns for adverse side effects were raised. It is now under redevelopment as a hemorrhagic shock and reperfusion injury treatment by Palatin Technologies.

Can I buy Bremelanotide?

Absolutely not. It is not available as a medical treatment for any condition at this time and is no longer being researched or developed as a treatment for FSD or HSDD. There are serious safety concerns around blood pressure that deem the treatment too risky for improving libido.

The product showed promise as a serious competitor to LibiGel and PandG's offering but only one of the three contenders striving to be the first Viagra for women is still in the running and it currently is still not approved by the FDA for medical treatment to the general public. Bremelanotide does show promise as a treatment for other ailments though and you may want to discuss with your doctor about the possibility of this treatment in the future if you suffer from the other ailments it is in development for.

Is there an alternative?

In terms of a hormone therapy aimed at treating FSD and (or) HSDD not yet. However there are plenty of safe natural alternatives available on the market today by various supplement and sexual health companies also responding to the need of millions of women for a natural libido booster. We have reviewed several of the top products in the industry here at Feminine Review with the help of our independent readers.
